Description
The Problem with Most Honey You Buy in India
Here is a fact that will change how you look at that golden jar on your kitchen shelf. Most commercially sold honey in India — including many well-known brands — has been heavily heated and ultra-filtered. Heating kills the natural enzymes, destroys much of the pollen content and breaks down the nutrients that make raw honey so special. What remains is essentially a sweet syrup that is only marginally better than refined sugar from a health perspective. Our Pahadi Honey is genuinely raw. It comes from multi-flower wild hives in the Himalayan hills where bees forage freely across diverse mountain flora. It has never been heated above the natural hive temperature and it has been NMR tested — Nuclear Magnetic Resonance testing is the gold standard for verifying honey purity and it is what separates genuine raw honey from adulterated products.
What Makes Himalayan Pahadi Honey Special
Pahadi in Hindi simply means 'from the hills'. But not all hill honey is equal. Himalayan honey bees have access to a much wider diversity of wildflowers, medicinal herbs and alpine plants than lowland bees do. This diversity of flora creates a honey with a more complex flavour profile, a richer pollen content and a broader spectrum of natural compounds including enzymes, antioxidants, amino acids and trace minerals. The cold climate of the Himalayan region also means the honey crystallises more slowly and naturally and the hives produce at a pace that keeps the honey concentrated and nutrient-dense. This is very different from commercially farmed honey where bees are fed sugar syrup and production is forced beyond natural limits.
How to Use It Every Day
-
In warm water in the morning: A teaspoon in warm (not hot) water first thing in the morning is one of the most effective daily wellness rituals you can have.
-
In place of sugar: Use as a natural sweetener in tea, coffee, smoothies or porridge. Never add it to boiling liquid as heat destroys the enzymes.
-
On the skin: Raw honey is a natural humectant and has antimicrobial properties. A thin layer on the skin or lips overnight is deeply nourishing.
With Lakadong turmeric: A teaspoon of honey with a pinch of turmeric in warm water is one of the most powerful daily immunity combinations in Ayurvedic tradition.

Benefits
Immunity Strengthening
Raw honey contains natural hydrogen peroxide, bee pollen, propolis, and phenolic compounds that have documented antibacterial and antiviral properties. Regular consumption strengthens the immune system's ability to fight infections before they take hold, particularly useful during seasonal changes.
Rich in Natural Antioxidants
Himalayan multi-flower honey is significantly richer in antioxidant polyphenols than commercially processed honey. These antioxidants fight oxidative stress, reduce cellular damage and support the body's long-term defence against chronic disease and premature ageing.
Soothes Throat and Respiratory System
Honey has been used as a natural throat soother for thousands of years across cultures and the science backs it up. The natural compounds in raw honey coat and soothe the throat, have mild expectorant properties and can reduce cough frequency more effectively than some over-the-counter cough syrups in mild cases.
Supports Digestive Health
Raw honey contains natural prebiotics that feed beneficial gut bacteria. It also has mild antibacterial properties against certain harmful gut bacteria like H. pylori. Regular small amounts support a healthier gut microbiome over time.
Natural Energy and Metabolism Support
The natural glucose and fructose in raw honey are in a ratio that the body processes more efficiently than refined sugar, giving a more sustained energy release without the sharp spike and crash. Athletes have used honey as a natural pre-workout and recovery food for centuries.
Skin and Wound Healing
Applied topically, raw honey creates a natural barrier, pulls moisture into the skin and has antimicrobial properties that support wound healing and acne reduction. The enzymes in raw honey, destroyed in commercial honey, are particularly important for this skin benefit.
Natural Sleep Support
A small spoonful of honey before bed causes a controlled release of insulin which allows tryptophan to cross the blood-brain barrier more easily, promoting serotonin and melatonin production. This is the science behind the traditional warm honey milk before bed remedy.

I stopped using sugar in my tea completely after
switching to this
Three drops in my masala chai and I do not need any sugar. The
sweetness is natural and not sharp. The flavor actually adds
something to the tea rather than just making it sweet. My husband
initially refused to try sugarless chai but after I snuck this in one
morning he could not tell the difference. Now he prefers it.
My father with diabetes switched to this and his doctor
approved
His doctor said small amounts of raw honey are acceptable in his
diet unlike processed sugar. My father has a teaspoon in his warm
water every morning. He loves the taste and his energy levels
have been more stable. He is careful about quantity but the quality
of this honey makes him feel he is not missing out on anything
sweet.
I have started including this in every gift hamper I put
together.
Very good product but the outer box arrived slightly
dented
The honey jar itself was perfectly fine and sealed. The outer
cardboard had a small dent from transit. The product inside is
excellent. The honey is thick, fragrant, and very clearly raw. My
family has been having it every day and nobody wants to go back
to supermarket honey. Will keep ordering.
My doctor suggested raw honey during my recovery and
this was perfect
I was recovering from a bad throat infection and my ENT doctor
specifically said to have raw honey with ginger and warm water. I
ordered this and used it for two weeks. My throat healed faster
than expected and the taste was so good that I kept having it even
after I recovered. Now it is a daily habit.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much Pahadi Honey should I have per day?
One to two teaspoons per day is a good amount for most adults. In the morning with warm water on an empty stomach is one of the most effective ways to use it. You can also use it as a natural sweetener in tea or smoothies. Avoid heating it above 40 degrees Celsius as this destroys the natural enzymes.
Why has my Pahadi Honey crystallised?
Crystallisation is one of the most reliable signs that your honey is genuinely raw and pure. Processed honey has been heat-treated to prevent crystallisation, but this destroys the enzymes and nutrients. Raw honey naturally crystallises when the glucose separates from the solution at cooler temperatures. To liquefy it, simply place the jar in a bowl of warm water for 20 to 30 minutes. Never microwave it.
What does NMR tested mean for honey?
NMR stands for Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and it is currently the most reliable scientific method for verifying honey authenticity and purity. It can detect adulteration with sugar syrups, corn syrup or water that regular testing methods miss. An NMR-tested honey is as close to guaranteed pure as you can get — which is why it is the standard we hold our Pahadi Honey to.
What is Pahadi Honey and why is it different from regular honey?
Pahadi Honey comes from wild bee hives in the Himalayan hills where bees forage across a diverse range of wildflowers and medicinal alpine plants. It is raw and unprocessed, which means it retains all its natural enzymes, pollen, propolis and antioxidants. Regular commercial honey is heated and filtered, destroying most of these beneficial components and leaving essentially just a sweetener.
Is Pahadi Honey safe for diabetics?
Raw honey has a lower glycemic index than refined sugar and contains compounds that support insulin sensitivity. However it still contains natural sugars and will affect blood glucose. Diabetics who want to use honey should consult their doctor about appropriate amounts and monitor their blood sugar response. Small amounts used as a sugar replacement may be appropriate for some diabetics.
